Kirsty Duncan (voice) and Aaron Hawthorne (piano) will be performing two sets of music attributed to the life and career of Judy Garland in the stunning surroundings of Pollokshaws Burgh Hall's Ballroom. With a licensed bar and festive decor, this event is the ideal thing to look forward to between Christmas and New Year with those you love.
Kirsty Duncan is a Singer based in Glasgow and sings Classical, Opera, Jazz, Musical Theatre, Pop, and Scots song...in fact she will try almost anything! With an extremely versatile voice and a genuine passion for the Judy Garland songbook, Kirsty's interpretation of these songs will evoke feelings of refreshing warmth and nostalgia.
Aaron Hawthorne is an international multi-award winning musician based in Lanarkshire. He is the longest reigning "Young Organist of the Year" awarded by the American Theatre Organ Society and enjoys fulfilling a very busy concert diary throughout the UK, mainland Europe and the USA.
Pollokshaws Burgh Hall was designed in the Scottish Renaissance style by the renowned Scottish architect, Sir Robert Rowand Anderson (1834-1921), Pollokshaws Burgh Hall was built between 1895 and 1898. Other Anderson works in Glasgow include the Central Hotel and the Pearce Institute. The ballroom boasts some of the most impressive acoustics in Glasgow, making this the ideal space for these two musicians to soar.
