In 2019, Aaron Hawthorne was notified by the Cinema Organ Society that he was to be awarded the “Ian Sutherland” Award, an award given “directly to a player who displays outstanding talent and promise as a theatre organist.” However, the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic put a halt to all plans for Aaron to perform in a bespoke concert with a highly acclaimed organist to celebrate the award.
Aaron is delighted that, in March 2023, he will be sharing the Wurlitzer organ console of Victoria Hall, Saltaire, with internationally renowned theatre organist, Simon Gledhill.
